REPORT
MOLANDS Although the weights were not huge, the matches held this week saw nearly every competition weigh in giving very fair sport from all around the pool even after breaking the ice at the weekend. Roach and F1’s providing the bulk of catches but the odd tench, carp and chub were proving to be bonus fish. Pole with caster, pinkies, red maggot or small expanders has been the best approach.
GEARYS Only a few anglers fished Gearys but were rewarded with decent nets to double figures of roach and skimmers on float fished pinkie or caster over ground bait. The high bank area has been the best with pegs 7 – 13 providing the best sport.
LITTLE GEARYS After breaking ice on Sunday everybody caught on the Winter League with F1’s the main target. Long pole with pellet is the best approach and pegs along the straights from 7 – 15 and 24 – 28 are the top areas.
GRATUITIES Gratuities was fishing well early in the week with mixed nets of roach, crucians, carp and a few tench. Pole fished 4mm expander pellets fed very sparingly has been the best approach but straight lead or waggler with bread punch is also working.
WILLOW The hot pegs have been 5 and 6 around the reed beds where carp to 31lb and F1’s have been providing good sport to pellet or caster fished tight up to the reeds. Roach and skimmers being caught around the other parts of the pool with pinkies or caster the best baits.

REPORT
MOLANDS Molands is fishing well with roach and F1’s being caught from most pegs. Pole fished maggot, caster or pinkies is working best for the roach and some quality fish to 1lb showing. The F1’s are responding better to the pellet with 3mm or 4 expander pellets best. The best areas have been pegs 2 – 8, 15 – 19 and 52 – 60.
GEARYS With the weather turning colder through the week Gearys was hard with skimmers providing the best action and these were coming to caster fished over ground bait with the high bank pegs from 7 – 15 the best area.
LITTLE GEARYS Pole fished pellet at 11 – 13 metres has been the best tactic accounting for F1’s to 4lb, skimmers and a few carp. Caster fished short has also been catching roach and skimmers. The far side from 10 – 15 and the car park bank from
23 – 27 are the best pegs at the moment.
ANNIVERSARIES Switched off a little this week with the skimmers that were feeding well last week not going at all. Roach and small carp provided the best of any action with nets to double figures on maggot, caster or pinkies.
GRATUITIES During the milder weather at the start of the week Gratuities was fishing well with carp to 6lb, tench, roach and crucians coming out to long pole and pellet with the bottom end on pegs 6 – 8 fishing best. The fishing got more difficult as the weather turned colder with maggot or caster the best baits.
CRESCENT Roach to over 1lb and carp to 7lb were caught this week with pole fished red maggot the best approach.
WILLOW Carp and F1’s showing better this week with the reed bed pegs producing catches to over 25lb on pole and pellet/corn. Around the pool it has been roach and skimmers that are producing nets to 10lb on caster, pinkie or red maggot.

FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 16/1/11
Last week 126 rods caught 317 fish for an average of 2.52.
The milder weather saw an increase in rods and for most, the fishing was very good. Both boat and bank anglers enjoyed decent sport with the fish spread across the pools.
The best fish of the week was a 10lb 8oz rainbow caught by Ian Nelson of Solihull who was fishing Park Meadow pool and took it on a black Gold Head Lure. On the Day Ticket water Cocks Close, Matthew Bird of Atherstone had a 9lb 12oz rainbow which came to a black Buzzer fished under an indicator. Mr M Ali of Coventry had a rainbow of 9lb 8oz in a 5 fish catch from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a Cats Whisker Lure. Ian Thompson of Coventry took a five fish limit which included fish to 5lb 11oz and these all came to a Bloodworm pattern on the indicator.
Generally black or white Lures fished on immediate lines are producing the most fish but olive, black or red Buzzer and Bloodworm varieties have been working well fished under a sight indicator.
The hotspots have been the high bank and the road bank on Cocks Close, the shallow water on Great Pool and the far bank of Park Meadow.

REPORT
MOLANDS This pool is fishing well for roach with nets to over 20lb being caught all around the pool on pole and maggot or caster. Skimmers and F1’s also showing with pellet fished over ground bait working best for these.
GEARYS Although the fishing has been hard, fish were caught all around the pool on the matches held this week. Skimmers to 3lb and the odd carp are coming to pole fished caster, maggot or expander pellet with catches to double figures being taken.
LITTLE GEARYS Catches to 30lb+ by pleasure anglers at the weekend with pole fished pellet or caster accounting for F1’s and skimmers. The waggler with bread punch is also producing plenty of fish. Best pegs 7 – 14 and 26 and 30.
ANNIVERSARIES The pick of the pools at the moment with skimmers, roach, tench and a few carp coming out. Peg 1 is the place for big fish with carp to 16lb 8oz caught by Lee Richards to win the 4th round of the Winter League. Pellet fished under the far bank bushes tempted three fish which made up most of his near 38lb catch. Around the pool nets of skimmers and tench to 30lb were caught on pole and pellet with pegs 4, 6, 9, 10, 15, 17 and 22 all going well.
GRATUITIES Starting to fish with tench to 4lb and carp to 3lb coming to straight lead with punched bread or pellet fished out to the island. The pole is producing a few at the top end with carp, crucians and skimmers falling to chopped worm and caster or pellet.
CRESCENT This small pool fished well at the weekend with some quality roach to
over 1lb and carp to 6lb coming out. Caster or pellet fished on the pole was the best tactic.
WILLOW Willow is now picking up with roach and skimmers being caught from every peg to float fished maggot, pinkies or caster. The carp are still around the reed beds with fish to 4lb coming out on corn or pellet.

REPORT
Despite breaking the ice later in the week and clearing 75% of the pegs ready for the Christmas match on Sunday, the overnight frost on Saturday night saw most anglers having to break ice on the match. 68 anglers took part and those on Molands saw the best sport where roach to ½ pound made up most of the notable catches and these were caught on long pole and maggot/pinkies.
Little Gearys fished better towards the end of the week with F1’s showing along the far side from 7 – 11 and on the high number pegs 26 – 30, with pellet accounting for the better catches. Willow was producing roach and skimmers on most pegs to maggot or small expanders fished long on the pole.
Gratuities is quite clear at the moment and only producing the odd carp or tench with red maggot fished on the pole but we expect sport to pick up on all pools as it gets milder this week.

FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 9/1/11
Last week 28 rods caught 52 fish for an average of 1.86.
At last the ice disappeared enough to get people fishing at the weekend. The road bank and old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close was fishable and with a thaw forecast we should be fully open by Tuesday.
Alex Kerr fished from the bank of Cocks Close and took six fish to 3lb 2oz on a small Bloodworm pattern fished on a floating line. Mr D Tallett of Coventry caught and released five fish while fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to a Cats Whisker.
On the Great Pool, Andy Wilson caught four fish to 3lb on a white Minky.
The best approach over the past couple of days has been to fish white or black Lures on intermediate lines or a red Buzzer or Bloodworm on a floating line and indicator.

REPORT
Most of the pools remained covered in a thick layer of ice despite the slow thaw throughout the past week. Ice breaking on Little Gearys allowed a couple of matches to take place but even though everybody caught (24 fished on Sunday) weights were low and consisted mainly of skimmers and small roach to maggot, caster or pinkies. The aerator has cleared pegs 1 – 5 and 59 – 61 on Molands and anglers fishing these pegs caught plenty of roach to ½ pound, skimmers to over a 1lb, perch and the odd F1’s and chub, red maggot on pole or waggler was the best tactic.
The reedbeds on Willow remained open and skimmers and F1’s were being caught on small expanders or maggot on pegs 5 and 6.
The River Blythe has been popular over the past few days with anglers catching chub to
3 ½lb caught on either bronze maggot/caster with short float or ledger bread flake.
