FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 8/1/12

Last week 79 rods caught 218 fish for an average of 2.75.
             
The high winds through the week saw fishing difficult in the conditions but the calmer milder weather saw all the pools improve and fish well.  The biggest fish of the week was 6lb 8oz rainbow caught by Gary Cooper of Sutton Coldfield who was fishing from a boat on Park Meadow pool ands tempted this and another five fish to 4lb on a white Lure.

Matthew Bird of Atherstone fished on catch and release on Cocks Close and caught seven fish to over 4lb all caught on a Bloodworm pattern.  Mick Hanson of Nuneaton caught fish to 5lb in a five fish catch again from a boat on Cocks Close.

On the Great Pool, Lorrie Veasey of Coventry used Cats Whiskers to tempt four fish which included good samples at 5lb and 4½lb.

Top patterns are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, white Minkies, Viva, Appetizer, Gold Head Damsel, black Buzzer and Bloodworm.

The best areas have been the lodge corner and the high bank of Cocks Close, the shallow end to the left of the boat jetty on Great Pool and the dam wall at Hall Pool.
