REPORT
MOLANDS Fished a lot harder this week with a return to frosty conditions which saw ice on some areas over the weekend. During the week, bread on the straight lead accounted for a few carp into double figures with pegs 15 – 27 or 43 – 46 the best areas for these. Long pole and pellet produced 20lb nets of F1’s and skimmers with the early pegs from 1 – 8 and 25 – 31 the better areas for these.
GEARYS Skimmers have been caught from most areas with pole and pellet or pinkies fished on a ground bait feeder and are accounting for the better catches and bags to 20lb+ were taken this week. The colour has dropped out again making bread on the straight lead an effective way of catching carp and fish to over 15lb have been caught on this tactic during the week.
LITTLE GEARYS Weights have not been huge but anglers have caught from all areas of the pool. A small method fished to the island with punched bread/polony or dead red maggot has caught on the pole with pellet fished at 11 – 14 metres with F1’s and skimmers the target specimens.
GRATUITIES The top end of the pool on pegs 1 – 4 and 14 – 16 have been the best with carp to 8lb, tench to 4lb and skimmers showing to pole fished caster/worm or pellet fished long at 14 metres. Bread punch on the straight lead or waggler is also accounting for a few carp.
WILLOW The reed bed between 5 and 6 has been removed this week with the intention of hopefully spreading the fish around the pool.
ANNIVERSARIES There have been plenty of silver fish showing with skimmers, perch and roach coming to pinkies, red maggot or caster over ground bait. The lawn area has been the best with pegs 15 – 17 the pick of the pegs.
