REPORT
MOLANDS The milder weather over Christmas has seen sport improve on all of the pools but Molands has been the pick of the pools. Roach showing in numbers with plenty of fish from 8oz – 1lb and pole fished worm, caster or maggot has accounted for nets of roach to 80lb. The F1’s have been feeding well in areas with catches to over 80lb coming to pellet feeder with pellet or white boilies the best tactics. The carp have also been showing with bomb and bread the best tactic for fish to double figures. Top pegs 2 – 6, 15 – 19, 25, 43 – 48 and 52 – 58.
GEARYS Plenty of roach and skimmers coming to pole fished pellet, maggot or caster with nets to over 20lb over the last few days. The carp are still a little elusive with only the odd fish coming to bomb and bread fished out to the middle stumps.
LITTLE GEARYS Picking up with pleasure anglers reporting catching to around 40lb of F1’s with the pegs along the straights on either side of the pool fishing best, 7 – 15 and 26 – 29. The top tactic has been pole and pellet but the pellet feeder fished up to the island is also producing a few.
GRATUITIES Plenty of carp in the 1 – 3lb range coming to the bomb and bread punch or waggler with corn or punch fished tight up to the island. Pole tactics are catching mixed nets of tench, skimmers roach and the odd carp with pellet or caster the best baits. Top pegs 1, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 15.
WILLOW Pegs 1 – 8 have been providing consistent sport with carp, skimmers, roach and F1’s coming to the pellet feeder and pole with pellet, punched bread and chopped worm/caster all producing fish.
