FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/12/12
Last week 52 rods caught 195 fish for an average of 3.75.
The wet and windy weather put off a lot of anglers who would normally have fished during the Christmas break. Those who fished were not disappointed as there were some cracking fish caught.
The best being, a fish estimated at 14lb caught and returned by Jonathan Preston of Solihull who took it on a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line from Cocks Close pool.
Mick Hanson of Nuneaton caught a 12lb 8oz rainbow whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and this was the best of a five fish bag taken on black and green Lures.
Ray Inman of Birmingham also had one at 12lb 8oz which fell to a Straggle Cats Lure fished on a floating line, he also took another of 10lb 8oz later in the week and this came to a black Fritz Lure.
Ben Hookes of Birmingham caught an 11lb rainbow which came to an Appetizer fished on a sinking line.
The best tactics have been to fish an intermediate line with a long leader using black and green Lures, Cats Whisker, Tadpoles, Fritz Lures, Gold Head Damsel Nymph or Minkies.
The Day Ticket prices will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.
