REPORT
MOLANDS
A milder spell of weather saw more carp caught last week with fish to double figures coming to popped bread on the bomb. Roach and F1’s forming the main part of the catches with big roach to over 1lb coming to pole fished pellet at 11 – 14 metres. Top pegs 2, 4, 15 – 19, 25 – 27, 43 – 48 and 52 -58.
GEARYS
This pool is still fishing quite hard with roach and skimmers providing the bulk of catches with 10 – 20lb bags coming from all around the pool. Caster or pellet on the pole fished over ground bait is working best. The carp have been very patchy with a number of smaller fish from 1 – 3lb coming from the early pegs 1 – 7 and a few larger fish coming to the bread and bomb fished out to the middle stumps.
LITTLE GEARYS
Little Gearys still a little patchy but match weights to over 40lb were caught last week. F1’s and carp are coming to the waggler with hard pellet fished shallow just short of the island. The pegs along the straights have been best with 7 – 13 and 26 – 29 the most successful.
GRATUITIES
Bomb and bread and waggler with punched bread or corn have been the top tactics with carp from 1 – 5lb coming to this. Pole and pellet is catching mixed nets of carp, crucians, roach and skimmers. Best pegs 1, 4, and 8 – 11.
ANNIVERSARIES
Lots of silver fish coming out to caster or expander pellet with fish sitting on the open water rather than tight to the islands. A few carp coming to corn with pegs 1 – 6 giving the best chance of bigger fish.
