FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 27/1/13
Last week there were 16 rods caught 35 fish for an average of 2.06.
The snow and ice saw off most anglers this week but there were a few hardy souls brave enough to give it a try. Most of the pools were frozen over but throughout the past week there were places to fish on the Day Ticket water, Cocks Close.
Ray Inman of Birmingham had a great days fishing from the bank, catching seven fish to 3lb on a Bloodworm pattern fished on a floating line.
Messrs Hugh Shrimpton and Tom Morris of Rugby shared a boat on Sunday and caught ten fish up to 4½lb using Hares Ear Nymphs and Cats Whiskers.
Ade Cooper of Maxstoke fished the bank and caught four fish to 4lb on a Damsel Nymph.
The sand bank area just outside the lodge has been the best area with fish moving well around there.
The ice has melted and it is business as normal now.
