REPORT
MOLANDS Far more consistent with lots of 30 – 40lb weights in matches and pleasure anglers enjoyed very good sport particularly early morning or late evening. The F1’s are giving lots of bites on all areas with pole fished paste and pellet or a small feeder fished to the island working best. The carp are starting to feed better with fish to 14lb caught in matches, with pellet or method feeder accounting for the better catches of carp. Best pegs are 1, 10 – 19, 23 – 29, 43 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS The low water levels have made the fishing a little harder but match weights to over 60lb have been taken and pleasure anglers are reporting much better catches and again the evening sessions are the best time to fish. Carp to 15lb and bream to 4lb along with crucians, brown goldfish and tench being caught. The best tactics are either straight lead and pinging 8mm pellets or pole with chopped worm and caster or paste. Best pegs are 7 – 11, 15 – 20, 23, 30 – 33 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS The shallow fishing has been excellent with F1’s to 5lb coming to pellet fished at 10 – 13 metres out and between 6” and 2’ down. Lots of skimmers, F1’s and tench are coming to paste or pellet fished down the near margin and you can’t ignore a small method fished to the island. Good sport being had all around the pool but pegs
7 – 11, 17 – 21 and 23 – 26 are the fliers at the moment.
GRATUITIES This pool has been very popular this week with some good bags of tench and carp being caught. Fishing to the island with either straight lead and pellet or a small method feeder has worked well on most pegs with the corner pegs responding to the pole fished along the near margin.
ANNIVERSARIES Lots of fish coming to the pole with pellet fished over ground bait or micros with tench, small carp, skimmers and crucians showing in good numbers all around the pool. The bigger carp, with fish to 16lb coming out this week around the top end with pegs 1, 2 and 22 producing good fish to meat or paste fished right up to the overhanging trees.
SIBLINGS Good sport being had on the pellet or paste with crucians and skimmers providing the bulk of catches but an increasing number of tench and carp showing as well. The points on the middle of the pool and the reed beds are the best areas.
WILLOW Generally fishing well with mixed nets of carp, F1’s, skimmers and tench coming to pole fished pellet or caster. Corn or meat are accounting for larger fish. Best pegs are 1, 4 – 6 and 11 – 12.
