REPORT
MOLANDS A big improvement in catches this week with match weights to 126lb caught. Shallow tactics for carp and F1’s are working best with long pole and pellet or candle/pellet waggler with 6mm or 8mm pellet catching plenty of fish during the day. In the evenings, meat or pellet fished down the margins is also accounting for big catches. Top pegs are 2, 8, 12, 19 – 21, 25 – 31, 40 – 48 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS Fishing much better during the afternoons/evenings with the bigger carp feeding right under the angler’s feet and paste, pellet or meat are all working well with fish to 18lb caught on this. During the day, pinging 8mm pellets and fishing the straight lead or pellet waggler over the top is producing decent nets of carp. Top pegs are 7 – 13, 19 – 23, 27 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Really improving this week with match weights to just under 100lb caught in club matches at the weekend. F1’s to 4lb are coming to the pellet fished shallow on the pole. Mixed nets of carp, F1’s and skimmers are being taken on pellet, paste or meat fished down the near margin as well. Best pegs are 1 – 5, 9 – 13 and 21 – 27.
GRATUITIES The middle pegs are producing some nice nets of crucians with the odd carp or bigger tench fishing expander pellet over micros or caster shallow. A small pellet feeder fished tight up to the island is the best tactic for bigger nets of carp and punched meat or bread fished on the hook is accounting for the better catches.
SIBLINGS There were quite a few doubles caught off the top last week with the warmer temperatures getting the bigger fish moving to dog biscuit or floating boilies. Decent nets of tench, skimmers and crucians are coming to the pole with corn, meat or pellet fished over micros or ground bait.
WILLOW Pellet feeder fished tight to the island is the best tactic for big nets of carp and F1’s. Plenty of skimmers, rudd and crucians are coming to the expander pellet fished on the pole feeding micros.
