REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing is still improving on Molands with the F1’s and skimmers making up the bulk of catches but crucians, tench and carp also showing better. Fishing down the near shelf has been most productive with paste, corn and pellet accounting for plenty of fish. A feeder fished down the far shelf is also catching with meat or pellet on the hook. Best pegs are 2, 10, 12, 17, 26 – 31, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS The carp are all shoaled up and proving quite difficult to catch and match weights to only 65lb were best last week. Pleasure anglers fishing into the evening have enjoyed the best of the action with double figure fish being caught down the edges on paste or meat. Straight lead and pellet is also worth a go at the moment. The skimmers have been a little patchy and pegs 31 – 40 have been the best area for these with nets to 40lb+ on chopped worm and caster.
LITTLE GEARYS Steve White won the three hour match on Monday night with 79lb of F1’s caught on the method feeder with pellet and meat and he caught a lot of fish around the 2lb mark with the odd bigger fish. Generally Little Gearys is in the best form with decent catches from all areas and lots of tactics working including the method and paste down the near margin. Top pegs are 3, 7 – 13, 17, 21 and 27 – 30.
GRATUITIES All pegs producing nets of carp, tench and crucians but the feature pegs 1, 8, 9 and 15 on the corners are still the most prolific. Pole with paste, pellet or corn is working or the method feeder out to the island is also catching plenty.
ANNIVERSARIES For mixed nets of small carp, skimmers, crucians and tench, Anniversaries has been terrific this week. Keep it simple with expander pellet over ground bait or micro pellet and it can be ‘a fish a chuck’ on most pegs but the flyers have been 1, 2, 6, 9, 15 and 22.
SIBLINGS Still providing good sport mainly from crucians and skimmers but an increasing number of tench and carp being caught. The reed bed end of the pool is best fishing up to the reeds or off the points with pole fished pellet the top tactic.
WILLOW Small carp from 1 – 3lb, tench to 3lb, crucians and skimmers have been providing the main action on Willow. Pole fished pellet, corn or paste are all catching plenty, fishing down the edge or on some pegs out to the island with the better pegs this week being 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 11.
