REPORT

MOLANDS The fish started spawning during the middle of the week and this has affected sport on Molands and all of the pools. The fish have had other things on their minds and sport has been patchy. Match weights to 70lb+ have been taken with carp and F1’s providing the best of the action. Paste, caster, chopped worm and meat fished down the edge is the best tactic with a method or pellet feeder fished to the island also worth trying. The best pegs are 4, 10 – 12, 19, 25 – 31 and 41 – 46.

GEARYS Good weights early in the week with catches to over 90lb with carp showing all around the pool and the top tactics have been corn fished on the pole down the near margin or straight lead and 8mm pellet fished at 25 – 30 metres. Sport slowed down after they started to spawn on Thursday but reasonable catches were still being caught on similar tactics. Best pegs 1, 6, 7, 9, 15, 19 – 21, 27 and 31 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Harder than of late with catches to over 50lb best but fish are being caught all around the pool and fishermen still are getting plenty of bites to various tactics. Method feeder to the island is probably the most effective tactic with meat or 6mm expander on the hook.

GRATUITIES Some decent carp caught off the top with dog biscuit or bread accounting for fish into double figures. Tench and smaller carp still responding to the meat fished on the pole at 5 – 6 metres. Best pegs are 1, 4, 8 – 11 and 13 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES Paste or pellet fished close in down the near margin has been working well for mixed nets of carp, tench, skimmers and crucians. Best pegs are
1 – 4, 6, 9, 17 – 19 and 22.

WILLOW Lots of fish coming to floaters, particularly in the last couple of hours of the day with carp to 14lb reported this week. Skimmers, crucians and a few tench are coming to corn or pellet fished on the pole. Best pegs are 1, 3, 6 and 9 – 11.

SIBLINGS Plenty of tench coming out with fish to 5lb coming to meat or paste fished
c lose in. There was a 20lb+ mirror caught on strawberry jelly pellet during the week and a few other doubles caught too. The top end by the reed beds been the best area.
