REPORT
MOLANDS Fished well through the week with carp and F1’s making up the bulk of catches with a few big skimmers and tench also showing. The bigger carp are being caught across to the island with straight lead and pellet or meat in a small method feeder with meat working best. F1’s and skimmers are coming to caster or pellet fished down the first shelf at 4 – 6 metres. Best pegs are 2, 8 – 13, 29 – 31, 44 – 48 and 52 – 56.
GEARYS Fished a little harder this week but fish are being caught all around the pool. Carp in the 2 – 4lb bracket and skimmers are making up the catches with pole and chopped worm/caster on method feeder with meat or pellet working best. Best pegs are the high bank from 6 – 13, 16, 29 – 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Lots of F1’s coming to the pole with pellet or caster working best close in down the margin or long at 13 metres. The method feeder tight up to the island is also producing well with dead maggot or meat on the hook. Fishing is consistent all around the pool but pegs 8 – 13 and 19 – 21 have been the hot pegs.
GRATUITIES This pool has been in good form this week with carp to 7lb, tench to 4lb. crucians and a few chub showing. The corner pegs 1, 8, 9 and 15 have been the best but decent catches also being caught on the straights. Long pole with caster or pellet or a small open feeder to the island have been the best tactics.
ANNIVERSARIES Anniversaries has been very hard this week with caster or maggot accounting for the better catches and roach or skimmers making up the catches. Best pegs have been 1 – 6, 22 and 23.
WILLOW The reed beds are producing the better catches with carp, tench and F1’s coming to the pole and pellet, maggot or caster.
RIVER BLYTHE Freshened up with the rain during the week and catches improved with chub to 4lb, roach, perch and dace coming to bronze maggot or caster.
