REPORT
MOLANDS The high pressure over the last four days has seen lots of F1s and carp on the top but not easy to catch. Weights to nearly 100lb during the week but fishing patchy at the weekend. Carp have featured well with lots of fish over 10lb and up to 19lb being caught. Pellet or boilies fished to the island has been the best tactic. The F1s have been showing best down the first shelf, fished short with maggot or pellet best. Top pegs are 2, 10, 15, 25 – 31, 37 – 46 and 52 – 56.
GEARYS Carp anglers have caught fish to 20lb fishing boilies with a PVA bag out to the middle stumps. Bomb and pellet is the best tactic during matches for carp with nets to over 70lb. Good silver catches also being taken with skimmers, roach, crucians and the odd tench being caught on pole with maggot or caster.
LITTLE GEARYS Very consistent with every peg producing decent catches with F1s feeding really well all week. Up in the water tactics such as dumpy pellet waggler or long pole and pellet shallow have been working well but the best fishing is later on down the margins with maggot, meat or corn with pleasure anglers reporting 100lb+ catches on this.
GRATUITIES A little trickier this week with the carp slowing down. Mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, tench and even the odd barbel have been coming out to pole fished caster, paste, pellet or maggot.
SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Fishing best later in the day with the fish now moving down the margins. Corn or pellet have been working best for mixed catches of carp, tench and F1s. During the day long pole has been best tight up to the island.
SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) More consistent of the Siblings pools with lots of F1s being caught on maggot or pellet at 5 – 10 metres out. The bigger carp are coming to worm or pellet fished tight to the far bank.
WILLOW In decent form with good nets of F1s coming to shallow pole with pellet or caster. A small method or pellet feeder fished to the island is also working well for carp to 5lb and F1s. Later in the evening carp are feeding well down the inside with corn or meat accounting for fish into double figures.
ANNIVERSARIES A little patchy this week but good nets have come from the top end with pegs 1 – 8 in good form for F1s, small carp, bream and roach. Simple float fishing tactics have been best with maggot or pellet.
