REPORT
MOLANDS Fished very well in the week with the biggest weight of the year so far at 167lb winning Wednesday’s match but sport dropped off at the weekend with the F1s switching off. Pole fished maggot, pellet or caster on the deck or shallow at 10 – 13 metres has been the most consistent tactic for F1s. The carp are showing better to bomb with boilies or pellet fished tight across to the island. Best pegs have been 1 – 4, 10, 12, 27 – 31, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS In the best form of the year with 100lb needed to win all matches this week and good back up weights. Pleasure anglers have also enjoyed good success with lots of double figure carp and fish to 20lb have been caught. Bomb and pellet or boilies has been the top tactic but in the evenings, corn, maggot or pinkies down the margins are also working well. Good nets of bream and skimmers are being caught too with catches to 50lb on the pole with caster or maggot.
LITTLE GEARYS Various tactics have been working this week with pellet feeder tight to the island, long pole with pellet or caster fished shallow and down the margins with either corn or meat. Nets to over 80lb caught in matches but pleasure anglers, particularly those fishing later in the day have exceeded that. Best pegs have been 3, 7 – 9, 15, 20 – 23 and 27 – 29.
GRATUITIES There have been some cracking nets of bream on pegs 5 – 8 with fish to 5lb coming to corn or worm. Carp are being caught off the top with dog biscuit or bread and on the waggler with corn or pellet fished out to the middle island.
WILLOW Fished well this week with nets of carp and F1s being caught on most pegs. Varied tactics have been working from float fished corn or meat down the edges to pellet waggler or feeder fished across to the middle island. Carp to 19lb have also been caught this week.
SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Still a little patchy but if you are on them you can have a good day with F1s, carp, tench, skimmers and ide all being caught to pole fished maggot, caster or pellet, feeding micros or small amounts of ground bait.
SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) More consistent with lots of F1s being caught on caster or pellet. Most found fishing across to the far bank was working best but later in the day fishing close in. Skimmers, tench ide, carp and the odd barbel are also being caught.
ANNIVERSARIES Lots of F1s in the 1 – 2lb bracket are being caught all around the pool on pole and pellet or maggot. The bream and tench have been a little more localised with pegs 2 – 4 and 21 – 23 producing fish to 5lb.
