REPORT
MOLANDS Very much up and down this week with the colder nights affecting sport on some days. Match weights to over 80lb were recorded with carp to double figures making up the bigger catches. Method/pellet feeder fished tight to the island or straight lead/waggler with 8mm pellet is the best approach at the moment. Best pegs are 8 – 19, 29 – 31, 43 – 46 and 56 – 58.
GEARYS This pool is very hard at the moment with catches to 50lb best. Carp to double figures featuring in catches with the last couple of hours more successful. The skimmers have switched off a bit with the high bank producing the better catches with nets to 30lb from there on pole and pellet or chopped worm and caster. Top pegs are
7 – 13, 19, 31 – 33 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Definitely the best pool on the complex at the moment with F1’s seemingly unaffected by the drop in temperatures. Short pole with pellet or meat has worked well and the shallow pole and pellet approach has also produced some good catches this week. Best pegs are 3, 7, 15 – 21 and 25 – 28.
GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers enjoyed the best of the action on Gratuities with carp to 8lb, tench to 4lb and plenty of crucians and skimmers showing. The matches have been slow with only 20lb winning club matches at the weekend.
ANNIVERSARIES Anniversaries is fishing well for mixed nets with pellet, chopped worm and caster and paste all catching. Skimmers, tench, crucian carp in the 12oz – 2lb range and even the barbel coming out. Best pegs are 1 – 3, 6, 9, 10, 15 – 17 and 21 – 23.
WILLOW Always popular Willow is in decent form with carp showing mainly in the
2 – 4lb range but a few doubles also coming out. Pellet, corn or meat fished close in or on a small method feeder to the island have been the best tactic.
SIBLINGS A quiet week on Siblings but the few anglers that fished it enjoyed reasonable success with tench and skimmers making up the bulk of catches. Paste or pellet fished close in was working best.
