REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing has improved through the week with the F1’s starting to show in numbers all around the pool again with plenty in the 1 – 3lb range along with the odd 5lb+ fish. The best tactics for the F1’s is to fish pellet at 13 metres on the deck coming shallow later on in the session. Carp to 18lb have been caught with plenty of doubles also showing and pellet or boilies fished across to the island have been the best approach for them. Top pegs have been 4, 8, 10 -15, 19, 23, 29 – 33, 41 – 46 and 54 – 58.
GEARYS Fishing well with carp showing all over the pool at the moment and fish to nearly 20lb have been caught this week. Best tactics have been bomb and pellet or down the margin feeding ground bait and to fish worm, corn or meat. Good nets of silver fish are being caught with catches approaching 50lb of skimmers, crucians and tench coming to paste pellet or chopped worm and caster. Top pegs have been 1, 7, 11, 15, 16, 19 – 23, 30, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS In really good form this week with match weights to over 150lb and decent nets being caught all around the pool. Slop and pellet tactics still working well but a more traditional shallow approach has been the best method feeding pellet or caster and fishing around 12’’deep. Meat or caster down the margin is also accounting for big catches particularly later or on the day. Top pegs have been 1, 3, 5, 11 – 14, 21 and 24 – 29.
GRATUITES Pleasure anglers have enjoyed some great sport fishing this week with the carp showing in numbers. Meat and corn fishing down the edges have been working well and fish to 17lb were reported on this. Surface fishing with bread or dog biscuit has also been very good during the hot weather.
WILLOW In great form with lots of carp and F1’s coming to waggler fished across to the island or shallow pole tactics fishing into the open water. Evening sessions are best for the bigger fish coming into the edges and plenty of carp from 6 – 12lb have been coming to paste or corn fished tight in.
ANNIVERSARIES Lots of F1’s are being caught with pleasure anglers reporting nets to 80lb+ on pole and pellet or maggot. Ide, carp and some decent sized bream are also being caught. A few larger carp up to 17lb have featured and they seem to be on the early pegs from 1 – 4.
SIBLINGS A Pellet or meat fished tight across to the island is working best for carp to 10lb and F1’s. Maggot or caster is catching plenty of ide and skimmers with nets to 50lb of silvers caught this week. Best pegs have been 2, 5 – 10 and 18 – 21.
SIBLINGS B Pole and pellet is the best approach with mainly F1’s being caught from 8oz – 1½lb in nets to 60lb. Meat or paste fishing close in is accounting for the better carp with fish to 6lb coming to this.
