FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS Some great catches this week with match weights to 150lb, carp to 18lb, F1’s to 6lb, skimmers, tench and crucians being caught. The best approach for carp is to fish tight up to the island with bomb and pellet or method feeder with meat or boilies. The F1’s and mixed catches are being caught on the pole on the deck with caster or pellet. Top pegs are
2, 10, 12, 15, 17, 27 – 33, 37, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Although generally it has been a little patchy on Gearys, there has been some quality fish being caught with plenty of carp in the 10 – 16lb bracket showing along with skimmers, tench and crucaians. Bomb and pellet is the top tactic in matches for carp and pleasure anglers have enjoyed good success fishing boilies and PVA bags out to the middle stumps. The skimmers and mixed catches are coming to the pole with expander pellet or caster over ground bait. Top pegs are 1, 6, 11 – 16, 19, 27, 31, 36 and 37.
LITTLE GEARYS In great form for most of the week with match weights to over 170lb. F1’s have provided the bulk of the action with shallow pole and pellet fished at 6 – 13 metres providing the bigger catches. Pellet feeder to the island is the top tactic for carp with fish to double figures coming to this. Best areas are pegs 3, 7 – 12, 19 and 25 – 30.
GRATUITIES This pool has been a little harder this week with the better catches coming from the corner pegs 8, 9 and 16 where carp to double figures have been caught on float fished corn or meat. Bread on the top has accounted for a few caught by pleasure anglers. On the straight banks a small feeder fished tight to the island is the most effective approach.
ANNIVERSARIES It is a bite a chuck on some areas with pellet fished over micros catching lots of F1’s in the 8oz – 1½lb bracket. The top end on pegs 2 – 6 or around 19 – 23 are the best areas.
WILLOW In good form with a feeder fished to the island the best tactic at the moment and that is producing carp, F1’s and skimmers. The biggest carp are being caught off the top with fish to 15lb coming to bread or dog biscuit.
SIBLINGS A Fished a little better this week with catches to 60lb in matches and pleasure anglers reporting good nets. Carp to 10lb, F1’s and skimmers are providing the action with pole fished meat or pellet working best.
