REPORT
MOLANDS Maggot feeder is the top tactic at the moment fishing half way across or up to the island and this is catching the bigger F1’s with fish to 5lb coming to this. Waggler or bomb with 6mm pellet is also accounting for some good nets with the bigger carp responding best to this tactic and fish to over 15lb have been caught in catches to over 90lb. Top pegs are 2, 8, 15, 23, 27, 43 – 46 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS Carp are still being caught despite the lower temperatures and method feeder with boilies or bomb with pellet or punched bread are accounting for fish into double figures. The skimmers are still featuring and nets to 30lb are being caught on pole with pellet, caster or maggot. Top pegs are 10 – 13, 18, 19, 27 and 31 – 37.
LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys is still very much up and down and not as consistent as it usually is. Match weights to over 60lb have been caught as the waggler with pellet or maggot has been the best tactic. Maggot feeder and pole with maggot or pellet is also catching a few fish. Best pegs are 3, 7, 10 – 15, 19, 21 and 28 – 30.
GRATUITIES Fished hard this week with clear water making the fish difficult to tempt. Pole and pellet at 13 metres or waggler with maggot or punched bread have been the best tactics.
WILLOW Fished better this week with match and pleasure catches to 50lb of F1’s and carp. A small method/pellet feeder or waggler fished tight up to any feature or the island has been the best tactic. Some good nets of skimmers and F1’s also coming to pole and pellet. Best pegs 1, 3, 5, 6 and 11.
SIBLINGS A Carp to 8lb, F1’s to 3lb, tench and skimmers have featured in catches this week. This pool is still very patchy but if you are on the fish good nets are being caught. Pole fished pellet, maggot and punched bread have been the best tactics.
SIBLINGS B Carp and F1’s have been feeding well on some areas with 4, 6, 9 – 11 and 13 the pick of the pegs. Pole fished pellet or maggot is working best.
