REPORT
MOLANDS At the start of the week we saw the cold and wet weather and because of this the colour dropped out of the water and fishing was quite hard. Things improved by Sunday when the Open saw lots of weights from 30 – 60lb caught with F1’s and carp the main species feeding. A small pellet feeder or method fished to the island was the best tactic with meat, polony or 4mm expander on the hook. Best pegs have been 2 – 8, 25 – 27, 31 – 33, 40 – 46, 54 and 58.
GEARYS Gearys has been the opposite to Molands with the best sport early on in the week and turning much harder at the weekend. Catches to over 70lb were had in the midweek matches with the carp coming to pellet waggler or straight lead and pellet with nets including fish to 15lb+. Skimmers were also going well with paste or pellet accounting for nets of 40lb but like the carp went off the feed at the weekend. Best pegs have been 1, 6, 7, 10, 19 – 21, 24 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Very fair with fish being caught all around the pool but weights have been down this week. Pole fished paste or pellet at five metres have accounted for the better nets of F1’s and skimmers with a small method feeder fished tight to the island also providing a few fish. Best pegs are 1, 3, 7 – 11, 17 – 21 and 27 – 29.
GRATUITIES Carp have been the most productive this week with fish between 2 – 5lb to the pole fished down the edge with meat or corn. A few tench showing but not in the numbers they were a few weeks ago. Best pegs are 1, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 15,
ANNIVERSARIES The carp have not been showing that well but mixed nets of crucians, tench, skimmers and roach have been worth going for. Pole fished pellet or caster have accounted for nets to 50lb and that has been non-stop action with the fish not being huge but plenty of them. Best pegs have been 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 15, 17, 20 – 23.
WILLOW The feeder has been producing the best results this week fishing either a small method feeder or an open end feeder to the island with meat or pellet on the hook. F1’s, carp and tench have been coming well to this with catches to 50lb+ reported this week.
