REPORT

MOLANDS A very mixed week on Molands with some big weights to over 100lb caught and some very hard days when not a lot was caught. Carp to 14lb have featured in catches this week along with F1’s to 5lb. Waggler with pellet or pellet feeder tight to the island is working best for carp with pole fished maggot down the margins the best way to catch F1’s. Top pegs are 12 – 17, 25 – 31, 40, 43 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS The carp are starting to wake up and fish to 18lb were weighed in during matches this week with nets to 80lb+ caught. Bomb and pellet, bread/boilies have been the best approach for them. Good mixed nets of skimmers, tench and small carp are coming to pole fished pellet or maggot. Best pegs 7 – 13, 19 – 21, 27 and 30 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Improved through the week with good fishing all around the pool at the weekend. F1’s the main target but carp, skimmers and a few tench also being caught. Maggot or pellet fished down the margin is the best tactic but fished shallow on the pole is also starting to catch by some nets. Top pegs 3, 7 – 15, 21 and 26 – 30.

GRATUITIES The carp are showing well now with fish to 8lb in nets to 50lb. A small method to the island is working best but pole fished corn or meat down the edges is also worth a go. Skimmers, crucians and tench are also being caught on the pole with caster and maggot. Best pegs 1, 4, 8 – 11 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end on pegs 1 – 6 is still the most consistent area with F1’s showing well there along with the odd big bream, tench and carp. Pole fished maggot or pellet is the best tactic.

SIBLINGS A Still patchy but nets to 50lb have been caught on pole fished pellet, corn or maggot fished over micros. Most of the fish are being caught right across to the island but as it warms up the margins are starting to produce as well.

SIBLINGS B Lots of bites with small F1’s showing on all pegs along with the odd bigger carp, tench, skimmers and even barbel. The point at the far end is fishing well with pegs 7 – 11 doing well on long pole and pellet.
