FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS Fished a little tougher with overnight frosts affecting sport. In the matches, nets to around 60lb were best and bomb with pellet or bread, waggler with 8mm pellet method feeder with small wafters and long pole with hard pellet catching carp and F1s. Carp anglers had fish to over 20lb this week with boilies or large wafter fished right upto the island and zigs fished about 4ft down the middle.
GEARYS In the week nets to around 70lb+ were caught with Method feeder with wafter or small discs of punched bread, bomb with 8mm pellet and banded hard pellet on the pole all worked well . Silver fishing has been great with nets to over 30lb and maggots or pinkies fished over ground bait or a small open end feeder the best approach
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a lot harder this week with the cooler conditions switching off the f1s. Pole fished banded pellet, corn or maggot fished out to 14.5 metres or down the margins was the top tactic but maggot feeder or method feeder fished tight to the island was also worth a go..
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 40lb were best this week, mainly F1s but a few ‘stockie’ carp were also being caught. Bomb or waggler in the open water on pegs 6, 10 and 17 – 23 fishing banded 6mm pellet on the hook accounted for the better nets but pole fished maggots or corn also worked well.
SIBLINGS A Nets to around 50lb were best this week with carp to 10lb and F1s to 5lb featuring. Dobbing bread or corn along the island and fishing maggots down the middle were the best tactics.
SIBLINGS B The cold conditions made sport a little tougher this week with nets to around 50lb best in the matches. Maggots or pellet fished down the middle of the pool or expander pellet fished over micros have been the best tactics but the odd bigger fish coming to bread dobbed across to the far back.
GRATUITIES Carp have been showing better with fish to 15lb featuring in catches and corn or dead maggot fished down the margins has worked well and a small feeder to the island also producing. Nice bags of silvers still coming out with skimmers, roach , perch and chub responding to maggot or caster over groudbait.
WILLOW Top pegs have been 1- 5 and pole fished pellet fished down the middle has worked best for carp and F1s to 5lb in nets to around 60lb. The odd bigger carp are coming to 8mm pellet fished up to the island on the bomb or waggler.
