FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS The milder weather and south westerly breeze push the bulk of the fish into pegs 1-8 and 57-60 where big shoals of f1s and carp made up the catches of up to 80lb . Bomb and bread or waggler and pellet accounted for the better nets but pole with maggot or caster also took mixed nets of f1s and silvers.
GEARYS Carp have been showing best at the top end of the pool with pegs 18 -30 the best pegs and fish to 18lb have been caught in nets to 60lb. Hard pellet has been best with 8mms on the bomb or 6mms on the pole with bomb and bread also accounting for a few fish. Silver fish nets to 35lb+ were best, coming to maggot or pinkies over ground bait on the pole or cage feeder.
LITTLE GEARYS Nets to 60lb were best this week with F1s making up the better catches on pole and maggot or maggot feeder. The odd bigger carp were coming to bomb and bread up to the island or corn/maggot down the edges. Best areas have been along the straights on either side with pegs 7 – 15 and 23 – 29 the most consistent.
GRATUITIES Very quiet on ‘Grats’ this week but the few anglers that have fished have had mixed nets of silvers and small F1s. Maggot, caster or pinkies fished over micros on a bit of ground bait has been the best approach.
ANNIVERSARIES Fished ok this week despite the cold conditions with lots of F1s in the 2-5lb bracket and ‘stockie’ carp being caught on all areas and nets to 50lb were caught. Pole fished maggot or banded hard pellet and bomb/wafter with 6mm banded pellet were the best tactics.
SIBLINGS A Little patchy but when you are on the fish good nets were to be had, mainly of F1s to 4lb but a few decent carp still showing. Pole and maggot fished down the middle of the pool has been the best tactic but ‘dobbing’ corn or bread, were also picking up a few fish. The better pegs have been 2 -5 and 17 – 21.
SIBLINGS B A little better this week with nets to around 70lb+ mainly made up of F1s or small ‘stockies’ but there were a few bigger carp to 10lb showing as well. Maggot or banded pellet fished down the track has been the better tactic.
WILLOW Still the most consistent pool with F1s, carp and silvers showing well through the week in nets to 70lb. Banded pellet, maggot or expander pellet on the pole fished down the middle or waggler and feeder to the island have been the best tactics.
THE FISHERY WILL BE CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY AND BOXING DAY BUT OPEN EVERY OTHER DAY.
