FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS Still producing some nice carp in the past week with numerous upper doubles caught and individual fish to 22lb were reported. Surface tactics with biscuit or oily floaters have worked well and fishing tight to the island or close in down the margins with boilies has also accounted for the bigger fish. In the matches, nets to 89lb were best with method feeder or bomb/waggler and pellet to the island, short pole with 6mm pellet and down the edges with caster, dead reds or corn the top tactics.
GEARYS Fished a little better this week with nets to around 130lb although it was a little patchy in the matches. Bomb or waggler with pellet, method feeder to the middle stumps, long pole with 6 or 8mm pellet and corn or dead maggots over groundbait have been the best tactics. Carp anglers have enjoyed good sport, particularly in the evenings with boilies on the bottom or off the top with dog biscuits and fish to 20lb+ were reported using this method.
LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to over 100lb were caught this week but Little Gearys is still not in peak form yet . The top tactics have been method feeder with wafter or meat to the island, bomb with 8mm pellet or down the margins with 6mm pellet or dead maggot over ground bait. Pegs 7- 15 and 23 – 29 have been the better areas.
GRATUITIES The far side has been better for carp with fish to double figures coming to waggler and pellet or feeder to the island with pellet or meat on the hook. There have been good mixed catches coming to expander or small pellet, caster or maggot with bream to 3lb, tench to 3lb, crucians and chub being caught.
.
ANNIVERSARIES Steady fishing to be had from all around the pool with carp and F1s
being caught in catches to 60lb. Waggler with 6mm pellet or long pole with caster or pellet on the deck and shallow are the better tactics. Paste or corn down the margins is worth a try later on in the day.
SIBLINGS A Fished a little better this week with nets to 70lb including carp to double figures, F1s to 7lb and the odd tench and decent sized skimmers coming out. Pole fished pellet, corn or caster fished either across or down the margins and caster shallow have been the best methods.
SIBLINGS B Probably the most consistent pool at the moment with most pegs producing nets up to around 80lb with some nice carp to 15lb and plenty of F1s showing. Caster shallow or down the margins, pellet on the ‘deck’ down the middle or across to the far bank and paste short on the pole have been the best tactics.
WILLOW Still fishing quite hard this week with nets to around 60lb best. Peg 5 is still the outstanding peg where waggler with pellet or a small feeder up to the lily pads has caught well. On the other pegs, pole fished hard pellet or caster shallow has worked best.
