FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS A little more patchy this week but match weights to 160lb + were caught and the fish were following the wind making the far end from pegs 21-29 and around scarecrow point from 42- 46 the best areas. Top tactic has been the method feeder with wafter ,polony or dead maggot fished tight to the island but short pole with banded pellet alos working well. Carp anglers have caught fish to 23 -7 and there were a number of 20lb+ fish weighed in during matches.
GEARYS Still in terrific form with match weights to 180lb and lots of 100lb + catches along with carp to 23lb and numerous upper doubles . Bomb with 8mm pellet, long pole with 6mm or 8mm pellet and down the margins with corn or banded pellet have been the top tactics. Carp anglers have caught on boilies over a bed of particles or off the top on dog biscuit
LITTLE GEARYS The up and down weather saw sport turn a little inconsistent and match weights dropped through the week,120 lb winning the vets match on Tuesday day but by the weekend winning nets were down to 70lb . Pellet fished shallow or down the margins, method feeder to the island, small pellet waggler or bomb to the island have all caught a few fish. The far side from 5 – 13 has still been the best area.
GRATUITIES The corner pegs 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16 have been the better pegs for carp catching down the edges with corn, meat or paste and fish to double figures are coming to this. On the other areas, feeder to the island or down the middle with pellet or caster has produced some nice nets.
.
ANNIVERSARIES The top end has still been the better end with the wind blowing up that way. Nets to 85lb, mainly of F1s but a few carp up to 6lb are being caught in the matches. Pole fished pellet or caster has been best fished shallow or on the ‘deck’. On the wider pegs, bomb/pellet waggler with 6mm pellet has been worth a go.
SIBLINGS A Fished a little better this week with most pegs producing carp and F1s and nets 75lb. Pole fished meat, caster, pellet or dead maggot has been the best fished across to the island, short or down the margins. A small method up to the island has caught some good nets as well.
SIBLINGS B Nice consistent sport with the F1s showing on all pegs. Caster shallow still the top tactic but pellet shallow or on the ‘deck’ and down the margins with worm, corn or pellet has also been working well.
WILLOW Pellet waggler up to the island has been the successful tactic last week, fishing a
6mm or 8mm pellet on the hook. Pole fished caster or pellet on the ‘jigger’ or on the ‘deck’ has also been working and later in the day, corn, paste or worm has accounted for some bigger fish fishing down the margins.
