MOLANDS Fishing has been like the weather very mixed. In the matches nets to around 80lb have been caught with method feeder or bomb with 8mm pellet tight up to the island, pole with banded pellet fished short and down the margins with dead maggot or worm over ground bait have been the top tactics. Carp anglers have caught plenty of upper doubles along with a few over the 20lb mark with cell or pineapple boilies fished down the edges accounting for the bigger fish.
GEARYS .Fished better this week with carp nets to 100lb+. Long or short on the pole with banded pellet or meat, bomb or waggler with 8mm pellet and down the margins with dead maggot, corn or worm fished over micros has been best for carp up to 20lb. The silver fish sport has been going well with catches to 30lb and decent catches are being made from all areas with maggot or pinkies fished over ground bait catching skimmers and some quality roach.
LITTLE GEARYS Much better this week with match weights to 180lb and good back up catches from around the pool.Long pole with banded 4 or 6mm pellet or feeder to the island has worked in the early part of the day but the pool has really come alive midafternoon with carp to 18lb and f1s to 7lb feeding well down the margins and dead reds or corn over ground bait or micros working best.
ANNIVERSARIES .Nets to over 60lb being caught in matches with pole fished caster or pellet fished shallow or expander pellet, corn or dead reds fished over micros tight across to the features or down the margins has been the best approach but Pinging 6mm pellet and fishing the bomb or waggler over the top can be very effective as well.
SIBLINGS A Steady fishing with top weights to 100lb and carp from 2-6lb and f1s to 5lb making up the catches. A pole approach is usually the best way to go but there have been some decent catches on a small method feeder fished across to the island or down the middle of the pool. Maggot fished short or pellet down the margins on the pole.
SIBLINGS B . Fishing well with nets to over 90lb made up of f1s from 2-4lbs showing along with some nice carp up to double figures. Pegs 5-12 have been the most consistent and pole fished meat, maggot ,corn or banded hard pellet the best approach.
GRATUITIES The bigger carp are coming to the waggler with pellet or a method feeder fished tight upto the island with pegs 8- 15 on the far side the most consistent area for carp from 3-10lbs. Nice mixed nets coming to maggot caster or expander pellet fished over micros fished down the middle of the pool .
WILLOW The better catches are being caught by fishing tight up to the island with a method feeder ,bomb with pellet or a small pellet waggler with carp to 10lbs and f1s to around 5lb making up the nets. All pegs are worth a go but 3,5 and 10 are the flyers at the moment.
