FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Still very tough at the moment with the fish starting to bulk up in some areas and if you are on them you can have a great day but hard if you are not. The carp are coming to bomb and bread/pellet or down the margins on worm over ground bait. The better catches of F1s are being caught on maggot, either long or on the pole or down the margins with a maggot feeder also worth a try now it is going cooler.

GEARYS Bomb and pellet has been the top tactic for carp with fish to 15lb coming in bags to over 100lb and the best pegs for carp have been 7 – 13, 16 – 20 and 30 – 35. Decent nets of silver fish are being caught on pole fished caster, maggot or worm fished over ground bait.

LITTLE GEARYS Nets to around 80lb have been best this week with the far side from pegs
5 – 15 in the more consistent form. F1s to 5lb have made up the bulk of the catches but carp to double figures have also featured. Meat, paste and maggot on the pole accounted for the best catches but bomb and bread and method feeder were also catching a few fish.

WILLOW Pegs 1 – 5 have been the most consistent with carp to 10lb and F1s to 5lb being caught on long pole with pellet or maggot, pellet feeder to the island and worm or caster fishing down the margins.

ANNIVERSARIES Like most of the pools, it has been very patchy this week as the cooler and wetter weather is slowing things down. The F1s are shoaling in the big bay in the middle and pegs 6, 16, 17 and 21 – 23 have been the most productive. Pole with maggot or pellet on the deck or shallow have been catching with a pellet feeder or maggot feeder also worth trying.
There also have been a few bigger carp being caught on boilies.

GRATUITIES Nice mixed of silvers with some quality roach and perch coming out on caster or maggot. The carp are showing better on the end pegs with corn or maggot accounting for fish to 6lb.

SIBLINGS A Gone a little clear and has therefore been very tough this week with catches to around 30lb best. Long pole with pellet or punched bread dobbed along the island has been the most affective approach during the day and later in the day fishing down the margins with corn.

SIBLINGS B Catches to 60lb best this week with lots of F1s from 1 – 2lb being caught along with carp to around 5lb.
