FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing has been a little harder this week with the high winds and very changeable conditions but there was still some decent nets to around 70lb caught and some nice fish with carp to 19lb and f1s to 8lb.. In the matches bomb or waggler with pellet, small method or pellet feeder with wafters and pole with banded hard pellet have been the notable tactics Carp anglers were catching a few doubles with fish to 19lb on boilies fished to the island with pegs 2, 13 – 25 and 42 – 48 best for carp.
GEARYS The windy but generally milder weather through the week made it better this week with match weights to around 128lb caught . Method feeder or bomb with 8mm pellet were the best approach and later in the day a few fish were caught on corn fished down the edge. Carp anglers reported fish to 18lb on boilies or big pellet fished out at range to the middle stumps.
LITTLE GEARYS Still not in the best of form with nets to around 40lb framing in matches with pegs
5 – 13 and 27 – 30 most consistent. Maggot feeder, bomb with 6mm or bread pellet and pole with maggot/pellet have been the best tactics.
ANNIVERSARIES THE new Stock F1s are still held up in the bay on pegs 7 – 9 with carp and F1s showing there caught on pole fished maggot or pellet. In the open water, a wafter or bomb with 6mm pellet has been working well for the F1s to 4lb and this is where the biggest catches are coming from with nets to 90lb this week.
GRATUITIES The far side from pegs 9 – 15 has been in the best form with carp to 5lb, F1s, skimmers and roach showing to pole fished maggot/expander pellet or a small feeder fished tight to the island.
WILLOW Still the go to pool for consistent sport with nets this week to around 50lb and most pegs are providing some sport. Carp to 16lb, F1s and silver fish including some nice chub and ide were coming to maggots or pellet on the pole or waggler and we even saw some good catches from the margins on corn or worm.
SIBLINGS A Fished well at the start of the week but sport slowed through the weeekend. Maggot or expander pellet on the pole fished down the middle has been working best but also dobbing bread across to the far side.with carp to double figures and f1s from 1-4lb being the main target
SIBLINGS B Nets to around 40lb were caught this week mainly f1s upto 3lb with the odd better carp or f1. Pole fished maggot , expander pellet and banded hard 4mm pellet have been the better tactics but on the wider areas a small maggot or pellet feeder has also worked
