MOLANDS The f1s have switched off with the bright conditions but carp to 21lb featured in match nets to over 130lb. The top tactic in matches has been to fish a method feeder tight up to the island with meat or wafters on the hook. Mugging on the pole and bomb with 8mm pellet also accounting for a few fish. Pleasure anglers have caught some nice fish with surface fishing doing well or on the deck with boilies fished over a mix of corn and pellet.
GEARYS The carp were spawning towards the end of the week which slowed sport but nets to over 100lb were being made and the carp are still showing on most pegs. Bomb or waggler with 8mm pellet, slapping or mugging shallow and on the deck at 10-14m have been the top tactics. Carp anglers have reported fish to 23lb with boilies fished with good spread of free offerings doing well now.
LITTLE GEARYS Good steady fishing with big F1s showing all around the pool with some nice carp to 20lb+ also featuring in catches to 175lb. Pole with pellet or caster fished shallow on the jigga has been the top tactic fished out at 11-14m or down the edges but method feeder or pellet feeder to the island , water waggler with 6mm pellet and down the edges with maggot ,pellet or paste also accounting for some big nets. One angler reported catching 3 twenty pound carp fishing on the top with chum mixers.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 65lb were caught this week with f1s to 5lb and carp from 1-3lb showing on most pegs. Bomb or waggler in the open water fishing banded 6mm pellet on the hook accounted for the better nets but pole fished caster or pellet fished shallow also working well.
SIBLINGS A Nets to 70lb this week with carp to 15lb and f1s to 6lb being caught on long pole up to the island with corn or dead reds over groundbait, down the middle with caster or hard pellet fished shallow or on the deck. The margins with corn or pellet have been out fishing everything as the day goes on with some big fish showing later on in the day. Best pegs have been from 15 to 21.
SIBLINGS B F1s in the 1-4lb range were showing well this week with caster, pellet or maggot fished shallow the top tactic with paste or meat fished short a good alternative. Dobbing produced some better sized carp with fish to double figures coming to this. The margins have fished well in the last couple of ours of the match \day being the best.
GRATUITIES Carp have been showing better with fish to 16lb coming to surface tactics featuring in catches pellet or dead maggot fished down the margins has worked well and a small feeder or water waggler to the island also producing. Nice bags of silvers still coming out with skimmers, roach, perch and chub responding to maggot or caster over groudbait.
WILLOW Fishing well with lots of tactics working now including water waggler or feeder fished really tight to the island for carp and f1s to 5lb, shallow pole and jigga with caster or pellet for f1s and down the margins with corn, meat or pellet for bigger carp with plenty of doubles being caught lately.
