FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS A little more patchy this week with the wind turning from the east there were match weights to over 100lbs and a few carp to 20lb + for the specimen anglers. In the matches Meat still seems to be the bait fished close in or down the margins for big f1s to 8lb and on the bomb across to the far bank for carp.8mm hard pellet on the waggler and shallow pole with pellet have also been working. Carp anglers have been catching on boilies tight to the island or off the top with dog biscuit or oily floaters with the biggest reported this week a 23-6 common. Best areas have been ,15-25,42-48 and 54-60
GEARYS The cooler easterly breeze saw sport slower this week but Carp to 21lb were reported by pleasure anglers and nets to 100lb were best in the matches. Method feeder with wafter, dead maggots and small boilies or bomb and pellet have been the best approach in matches and carp anglers have caught off the top with dog biscuit or on the bottom with fishy flavored boilies. The deeper water from pegs 1-12 and 31-36 were the better pegs.
LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to 130lb were caught this week and carp to 18lb and f1s to 6lb featured in catches. Pole with meat or maggot fished short or down the margins has been the top tactic but small method/pellet feeder or bomb with meat or 6mm pellet have also caught. Pegs 3-12 and 27-30 have been the better pegs.
ANNIVERSARIES Match and pleasure catches to 60lb were caught this week with most pegs producing plenty of f1s and silvers with the odd bonus carp. Pole fished pellet, caster and corn has been the top tactic but on the wider areas bomb or a small feeder with banded hard pellet has also been working.
GRATUITIES Carp to double figures have been caught on waggler and bomb with 8mm pellet fished to the island. The margin sport on the corner pegs has been really good with worm or meat catching lots of carp and f1s. For those that like the silver fish nets to 25lb of nice sized roach and skimmers are being caught on maggot or caster
WILLOW Pegs 5-10 have been the best pegs with anglers catching carp to double figures and f1s to 5lb in nets to 80lb +. Long pole with pellet up to the island or on the wider pegs a small waggler has been the best approach. Paste or meat down the margins later in the day is also working well.
SIBLINGS A Fished a little tougher this week with match and pleasure anglers reporting catches to 50lb at best. Corn or meat down the margin or maggot/pellet down the middle and banded 6mm pellet across to the island have been the best tactics.
SIBLINGS B Nets to around 134lb were caught this week and most pegs producing decent sport but the fish moved in numbers to the end of the arms with 13-18 fishing well. Meat or caster on the sort pole was the top tactic.
