REPORT
MOLANDS The mild weather at the start of the week helped to improve sport and weights to nearly 100lb were caught in matches and good back up weights around the pool were common. Big F1s to 6lb and up to double figures have featured in catches with a variety of tactics working at the moment including maggot feeder, long pole with pellet or maggot and waggler with pellet fished to the island producing plenty of fish. Top pegs are 2, 8, 10, 15, 21, 25 – 31, 43 – 48 and 56 – 58.
GEARYS Like all the pools there has been a significant improvement to sport with good nets of silver fish and carp beginning to show in numbers. Pole with expander pellet or caster has been best for mixed nets of skimmers, roach and the odd tench and carp. Pole fished down the edge or pellet feeder has been best for carp. Top pegs have been 9 – 13, 19 – 23, 27, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS In really good form with lots of catches in excess of 50lb and topping 80lb with decent catches being caught all around the pool. F1’s to 5lb are making up most of the bags but carp and skimmers are also showing in numbers. Maggot feeder, long pole with pellet/maggot and caster or pellet down the edge have all worked well.
GRATUITIES Silver fish are providing the best sport on Grats with bream to 5lb, lots of smaller skimmers, roach, perch and a few tench coming to caster or maggot on the pole at 8 – 13 metres. Carp are being caught down the margins or the end of the pool with fish to double figures coming to corn or pellet.
SIBLINGS A The doughnut has improved this week with the fish moving and creating catches to 50lb of F1s, ide, carp and skimmers with pegs 13 – 20 producing the best action but fish are coming from all pegs. Long pole with pellet or maggot is the best tactic.
SIBLINGS B Anglers are enjoying good sport with lots of F1s, roach, ide and a few carp showing on all pegs. Long pole with pellet is best but they are starting to come short now there is more colour in the water.
ANNIVERSARIES Weights to over 60lb have featured this week and the pool is fishing much better all round. F1s are showing and some big bream to over 5lb also coming out. Pole and maggot has been the top tactic but on the wider areas a waggler or ground bait feeder has also been catching.
WILLOW Good nets of F1s and carp are coming to waggler and pellet fished shallow up to the island. Mixed nets of F1s, skimmers, tench and crucians also being caught on pole with maggot or expander pellet.
