FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS Definitely living up to the nickname ‘Moody Molands’ this week with some cracking fishing one day and very difficult the next. Match weights to 138lb were recorded with carp to 18lb, F1s to 7lb and tench to 6lb featuring in catches. Caster fishing shallow has been best for F1s with wafter or straight lead and pellet accounting for the better nets of carp. Most consistent areas have been pegs 21 – 31, 42 – 48 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS Some cracking carp have been caught this week with lots between 15 and 20lb and the best coming out at 23lb 2oz caught by fishery regular Clive Tranter from peg 41 and this fell to a boilie. In the matches, nets to over 100lb were caught and pegs 9 – 20 have been in the best form. Bomb and pellet fished at 30 metres or long pole with 6mm pellet have been best for carp. Good nets of silvers have been caught this week with bream to 4lb featuring in nets to 40lb.
LITTLE GEARYS Consistent rather than spectacular this week with catches to around 80lb best. Shallow pole with caster or pellet, method feeder to the island with a wafter or dead red and down the margins with corn or meat have been catching in matches. Pleasure anglers have caught carp to 18lb off the top with bread or dog biscuit.
WILLOW Carp to 15lb, F1s to 6lb, tench, crucians and tench have all been feeding well this week. A small feeder to the island, pole fished pellet fishing shallow down the track or in the margins with paste, meat or big pellet have all worked well.
ANNIVERSARIES Carp are showing in numbers with fish to around 10lb being caught on paste, pellet or corn fished tight against the island or the features. Plenty of F1s also being caught with shallow pellet or caster the top tactics for fish to 6lb.
GRATUITIES Carp are being caught off the top with floating baits on the pellet waggler or down the edge with meat, corn or paste. Nice nets of silvers are being caught on caster or maggot fished over micros or ground bait.
SIBLINGS A Nets of carp, F1s and silvers to 70lb were best this week with pellet or corn fished tight across to the island the top tactics. Later in the day, fishing down the margins with corn or meat has also produced decent nets.
SIBLINGS B The most consistent pool this week with lots of F1s being caught on all pegs along with a large number of carp from 3 – 5lb. Caster has been the top bait fishing short or down the margins but pellet, maggot and paste have all accounted for good catches.
