REPORT
MOLANDS Molands was in great form at the start of the week with catches to 145lb and really good back up weights. F1s and carp were showing well to various tactics but a run of frosts every night through to the weekend slowed it all up. Pole fished maggot, caster, pellet or paste either at 13 meters or down the margins and pellet/method feeder to the island have been the top tactics.
GEARYS There have been plenty of double figure carp to around the 18lb mark coming out last week with boilies or wafter fished on the bomb or method feeder accounting for the better fish. On the matches, nets to around 80lb have been best and pegs 7 – 13, 18 – 20 and 31 – 36 have been the best areas.
LITTLE GEARYS Another pool affected by the cold nights with nets to 100lb caught early in the week but fishing much harder by the weekend. Paste fishing was coming into its own early in the week catching at five meters with big F1s coming to it. Pole and pellet or maggot took fish as the cooler weather came in and pegs from 15 – 23 were the best ones at the weekend.
GRATUITIES Fished ok this week with plenty of carp being caught shallow on pellet waggler and down the edges on corn or paste. Good nets of silvers also being caught on long pole or waggler with maggot, caster or expander pellet.
WILLOW Good catches of carp and F1s being caught down the margins or tight across to the island. Maggot, caster or paste down the edges and waggler or pellet just up to the island have been working best.
SIBLINGS A Tougher this week with nets to around 50lb best. Long pole with pellet, corn or punched bread fished across to the island has accounted for the better catches of carp and F1s.
SIBLINGS B More consistent than Siblings A with plenty of F1s being caught on all pegs. Pole fished pellet fished down the middle or across to the far bank has been the top tactic with nets to 70lb+ caught this week.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 50lb mainly of F1s have been best this week. Pegs 2 – 6, 10, 17 and 21 – 23 have been the form pegs and pole fished corn, maggot or pellet has been best approach.
