REPORT
MOLANDS The warmer weather got the F1s and carp moving nearer the surface and shallow tactics were better over the weekend. Nets to 100lb+ were caught on pellet waggler or pole and pellet/caster fished shallow. Pleasure anglers have been catching good sized carp to nearly 20lb on floating baits with oily floaters or dog biscuits scoring well. The best pegs have been 2 – 10, 23 – 29, 35 – 39, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS The top end of the pool from pegs 19 round to 31 have been in good form this week with the fish moving up in the shallower water. Carp to 18lb have featured in nets to over 100lb with bomb and pellet/boilies, hybrid/method feeder with wafters and pole fished pellet doing best in matches. Pleasure anglers have enjoyed good sessions fished floaters on the top.
LITTLE GEARYS The increase in temperatures saw the fishing improve through the week with nets to over 140lb caught by the weekend. The bottom end of the pool from pets 17 – 27 have been her most prolific with maggot or caster fished down the margins. Mugging carp on pellet and shallow pole with pellet or caster all accounting for big nets.
GRATUITIES Good sport to be had fishing shallow on the top with carp to 15lb coming out this week. A pellet waggler fished tight up to the island or surface fishing with chum mixers or bread have worked well. Decent mixed nets are also coming to maggot or caster float fished down the middle of the pool.
WILLOW Shallow has been the way to go on Willow with pellet waggler or long pole with caster/pellet working best for mixed nets of carp and F1s.
SIBLINGS A On Siblings A there have been mixed nets of carp, F1s, ide and skimmers being caught on caster, maggot or pellet fished long across to the island or down the margins. Most consistent pegs have been 9 – 17.
SIBLINGS B Pegs 7 – 17 have been in decent form through the week with 50 – 60lb of F1s being caught from these pegs most days. Fishing short down the margins with paste, meat or pellets and down the middle feeding heavily with maggots have been the top tactics.
ANNIVERSARIES Fished hard through the early part of the week but was improved at the weekend when catches to 50lb were coming out, mainly F1s but a few bigger carp also being caught. Pole fished pellet or meat has been the best approach.
