REPORT
MOLANDS Fishing improved through the week and catches to over 150lb were caught at the weekend. The F1s switched on and shallow caster was the outstanding tactic with pole and paste also scoring well for F1s to 6lb. The carp also showed in good numbers with method feeder, pellet waggler or bomb and pellet all fished tight up to the island accounting for fish in high double figures but averaging around the 8lb mark. Top pegs have been 2, 12, 15, 19 – 23, 29, 31, 40 – 48 and 52 – 60.
GEARYS It has been a good week on Gearys with some cracking bags of carp being caught. One angler reported catching 35 carp from 8 – 14lb using mixers on the top on peg 31. In matches, nets to over 100lb have been caught with pellet waggler, bomb and pellet and method feeder all working well. Good nets of skimmers are also being caught with caster or soft pellet accounting for nets to over 40lb.
LITTLE GEARYS In great form at the moment although the water level is really low. Match weights to over 160lb were caught with every peg capable of producing big catches. Lots of tactics working including pellet/method feeder to the island, pellet on the pole with slopping ground bait, paste and down the margins with corn or pellet.
GRATUITIES Steady sport with a good mixture of carp, crucians, decent sized roach, skimmers and tench coming out to caster, maggot or soft pellet. Better sized carp were caught off the top on mixers or bread and the pellet waggler fished tight to the island.
SIBLINGS A Little patchy with nets to 70 – 80lb being caught last week with carp, F1s, ide and skimmers making up the catches. Pellet or corn fished tight across to the far bank has worked best but fishing a pellet on the jigger is also scoring well.
SIBLINGS B The more consistent of the Siblings pools with carp and F1s being caught on all pegs. Paste, pellet or caster are the top baits fished at 13 metres across or down the middle.
WILLOW Another pool that has been fishing up and down last week with nets to 80lb+ on the good days but quite hard on the slower days. Carp and F1s to 5lb are being caught tight up to the island with pole and pellet/corn on the pegs where you can get across with the pole and waggler or a small pellet feeder on those unreachable with the pole.
ANNIVERSARIES A little better this week with catches to 60lb caught in matches mainly made up with F1s but the odd decent carp, bream and tench also being caught. Float fished pellet or maggot over micros is the top tactic.
