FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS Its fished a little better this week with match weights to 116lb and better back up catches too. Carp to over 20lb and f1s to 10lb+ have featured in catches. Pellet waggler ,bomb with pellet, punched bread or boiles or a method feeder all fished tight to the island have been best for the carp. The f1s are coming to pellet or caster fished long shallow and on the deck or caster down the edges. The pegs from 8-27 and 40-50 have been the most consistent.
GEARYS The warm conditions has seen an upturn in sport with carp to 20lb featuring in match and pleasure anglers catches with nets to 100lb + being caught. Bomb with pellet or boilies ,surface fishing with oily floaters and pole with banded 6mm or 8mm pellet have all been providing some nice sport . The high bank and pegs 16-24 have been the best areas.
LITTLE GEARYS Its been quite tough up on little gearys this week with nets to around 70lb best. The Water has gone a lot clearer and more refined tactics are required with long pole and caster/pellet on the deck accounting for the better nets of f1s. carp to double figures are coming to waggler or bomb with pellet.
GRATUITIES Silver fish have provided most of the action on Gratuities this week with skimmers, roach, tench and crucians coming to maggot, caster or soft pellet on the pole or waggler. A few carp have been caught on the corner pegs with corn or paste fished tight to the margins.
ANNIVERSARIES F1s have still been giving the best of the action on Anniversaries with fish to 5lb in nets to 60lb. Pole fished maggot, pellet or corn fished over micros has been the top tactic. A few bigger carp to double figures are coming to corn or meat fished against any feature or from the edges.
WILLOW A lot better this week with shallow tactics still working well, either on the pole with pellet or maggot or waggler with pellet fished around one foot deep and carp and F1s are coming to this during the day. Surface fishing with bread or oily floaters has been good for carp in the lovely conditions through the week with quite a few double figure fish coming to this.
SIBLINGS A Fishing down the margins with corn or 6mm pellet over miccros is working for carp to 15lb in catches to 80lb. f1s , ide,and skimmers responding best to maggot blasted in short or across to the island.
SIBLINGS B Nice consistent sport to be had on Sibs B this week with f1s providing the most bites. The best pegs have been around the end of the pool with 7 – 11 providing F1s to 4lb along with a few carp to 8lb. Pole fished maggot or pellet either across to the far bank or close in at five metres has been the top tactic.
