FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS The F1s are difficult to catch but those who get it right are catching well and nets to over 150lb were caught in matches this week on shallow pole with caster at 13 – 14 metres. The carp have been showing well with fish to 19lb weighed in during matches and the odd report of bigger samples coming to pleasure anglers. Bomb/waggler to the island with 8mm pellet, worm over pellet fishing down the margins and boilies fished across have been the best tactics for carp.
GEARYS Fished well this week with pleasure anglers reporting catches of up to 25 carp with plenty into double figures and match weights to over 100lb. The carp are coming best to bomb and pellet or boilies and pole fished pellet at 13 – 16 metres. There were some cracking nets of silvers being caught with skimmers, crucians and the odd tench making up bags to 50lb on worm/caster and maggot fished over ground.
LITTLE GEARYS Steady this week with nets of F1s and carp to around 70lb best but decent sport from most areas of the pool. Bomb and pellet, long pole with pellet or caster fished shallow, on the deck and down the margins with caster, maggot or pellet have been the top tactics.
WILLOW Like most of the pools at the moment the best of the fishing is later in the day and carp to 15lb along with F1s to 7lb have been showing down the margins in the afternoons with corn or worm fished over micros the best approach. During the day, a small feeder or waggler to the island and long pole with pellet or maggot have worked best.
ANNIVERSARIES Carp and F1s in nets to around 70lb have been best but fish are showing all around the pool. Pole fished pellet and caster shallow have accounted for the F1s with paste, corn or worm fished tight to the island picking off the better carp with fish to 15lb best this week.
GRATUITIES The silver fishing has been more consistent than the carp with nets of silvers to 30lb being caught on paste, pellet, maggot or caster fished over ground bait. Carp are coming to the waggler or bomb with 6mm pellet and pleasure anglers are still having a few off the top despite the drop in temperatures.
SIBLINGS A Siblings ‘A’ has been a bit tougher this week with carp between 3 – 6lb and F1s making up the better nets which were around the 40lb mark. Corn or pellet fished tight to the island and down the middle with maggot or pellet have been the better tactics.
SIBLINGS B Nets to around 50lb have been best on Siblings ‘B’ with F1s from 1 – 2lb producing the main action but a few better sized carp up to 8lb featured as well. Pellet fished across to the island or down the margins has been the best approach.
