FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Fished a lot better this week with match weights to 85lb and good back up catches from all around the pool. Carp to 24lb have been reported and lots of upper doubles and a few more 20s’ coming to boilies mainly but a few fish coming to other baits as well. In the matches bomb with pellet, method feeder to the island and short on the pole with pellet are the top tactics. Best pegs have been 8 – 13, 19 – 29, 39 – 45 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS A lot of spawning activity on Gearys this week and this has slowed sport a little. Catches in matches to around 80lb have been best with bomb and pellet the top tactic with method feeder and long pole with hard pellet also worth a try. Carp anglers have reported fish to 22lb and boilies fished at range seem to be the top method for those choosing the bigger fish.

LITTLE GEARYS Sport has really picked up on Little Gearys with the bigger F1s deciding to feed and match weights to over 180lb were caught but very good nets being taken from all around the pool. Method feeder to the island with meat or dead maggot on the hook, meat fished close in and down the margins and shallow with pellet or caster have been the top tactics for F1s to 7lb and carp to double figures

ANNIVERSARIES Fished a little better as with most of the pools and the bigger F1s are starting to feed with catches to 70lb caught through the week. Pellet or caster shallow, pellet or meat on the bottom and on the wider pegs, waggler/bomb with pellet have caught F1s to 6lb.

GRATUITIES Nice mixed bags are being caught on the pole with pellet, maggot or caster fished over micros or ground bait with small carp, F1s, skimmers, crucians and chub all showing well. The bigger carp are coming to waggler/bomb with pellet to the island and off the top on dog biscuit.

WILLOW Fished quite hard this week with nets to around 30lb best which have been mainly made up mainly of silvers and small F1s coming to maggot or small pellet on the pole. A few bigger carp are being caught down the margins later in the day with fish to 15lb coming to paste, corn or worm fished over ground bait.

SIBLINGS A Still not in the best of form with the carp trying to spawn but the F1s are showing better and catches have improved this week with nets to around 50lb best. Pole with pellet, corn or meat fished across to the island or down the margins has been the best approach.

SIBLINGS B Consistent if not spectacular this week with nets to around 80lb being caught from most pegs. Paste, pellet or meat short on the pole has been the top method but a small feeder across has also been working.
