REPORT
MOLANDS Fished well early in the week with catches to nearly 120lb but the colder weather towards the weekend slowed sport down. The big weights were being caught fishing close in with caster or pellet over ground bait and F1s and carp to 8lb were coming to this. Pellet or method feeder with wafter to the island was also working well. Best areas have been pegs 1 – 4, 12, 25 – 31, 41 – 49 and 58 – 60.
GEARYS Gearys was a little harder last week with the bigger carp ‘shutting up shop’. Plenty of smaller samples were coming to pellet feeder or method feeder with wafter or dead reds. Decent nets of skimmers were coming to pole fished expander pellet, caster or maggot over ground bait.
LITTLE GEARYS Consistent last week with decent nets of F1s being caught all around the pool. Short pole with pellet or maggot has been the top tactic but pellet feeder, method feeder or corn/meat down the margins have all been productive.
GRATUITIES A quiet week on Grats but the few anglers that have fished it have been catching carp and decent nets of silvers. Maggot or caster fished down the middle of the pool or pellet and waggler have been good for mixed nets. Corn or bread on the bomb fishing against the island has also snared a few carp.
WILLOW Pole fished corn or paste down the margins has been best for carp from 3 – 10lb. A small feeder to the island or long pole on the pegs that can reach the island has also been catching plenty of F1s and small carp.
SIBLINGS A Some decent nets of F1s and carp were being caught early in the week with pole fished pellet or paste fished close in down the margins working best. The colder snap midweek made sport a little tougher but nets to 50lb were caught at the weekend with maggots working better in the cooler conditions.
SIBLINGS B Decent nets of F1s were being caught on the straight bank from pegs 10 – 17 and short pole with pellet or maggot has been the best tactic. The better carp are coming to ‘dobbed’ bread or corn along the far bank.
ANNIVERSARIES Mainly F1s last week with decent nets coming to pellet or paste fished long at 13 meters but coming shorter in later sessions. Pegs around the main bowl have been best with 6, 16, 17, 21 and the 27 the most successful.
