REPORT
MOLANDS It has been a tough week on Molands with the changeable weather and the fish still wanting to spawn definitely affecting how the pool is fishing. Match weights to over 130lb but the back-up weights have been disappointing. Pellet feeder to the island, caster short at five metres or down the margins have been the best tactics this week.
GEARYS There have been some terrific catches off Gearys this week with carp to over 20lb featuring and match nets to over 120lb. Bomb and pellet, method feeder, surface fishing with floaters and pole with big pellet have accounted for some good sport this week. The most consistent areas have been pegs 16 – 21 and 30 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Still not in the best of form for this prolific water but sport has been little more consistent this week with nets to around 70lb and decent back-up weights from around the pool. Pellet feeder has been the top tactic fished across to the island with a small wafter or dead reds on the hook. Pole with caster or pellet shallow is also working on some pegs, particularly
on pegs 7 – 15.
GRATUITIES The corner pegs 1, 8, 9 and 10 have been the most consistent for carp with fish to double figures coming to corn or pellet fished down the margins. Pleasure anglers have caught fish to 18lb off the top with dog biscuit or bread. Crucians and skimmers and the odd tench are being caught on pole and caster or soft pellet along the straights.
WILLOW The pegs where you can reach the island with the pole have produced well with banded hard pellet fished tight across to the island working best. On the other areas, a pellet feeder or waggler have caught well.
SIBLINGS A Paste or pellet fished down the middle has been the top tactic on ‘A’ this week with nets to around 60lb and it has been a little more consistent than of late. Carp, F1s and ide are making up the catches.
SIBLINGS B The most consistent of all the pools at the moment with lots of F1s and carp being caught in nets to over 100lb. The end of the pool from pegs 7 – 10 has been the best area with pole fished maggot, caster or pellet all working well.
