REPORT
MOLANDS
The fishing is improving with good numbers of carp and F1’s being caught. Carp to 15lb+ and F1’s to 6lb – 12lb have featured in catches this week. Pellet is starting to be the top bet either fished on the waggler or shallow at 14 metres. Good mixed nets of crucians, skimmers and tench also being caught on the worm and caster as well. Top pegs are 2 – 4, 12 – 15, 19,
25 – 29, 42 – 48 and 57 – 60.
GEARYS This pool is still fishing a little hard with the carp showing all over the pool but not feeding in large numbers. Bomb and pellet or pellet feeder are accounting for a few fish up to 16lb. The skimmers are starting to show a little better with fish to 3lb featuring in nets to 40lb+. Worm/caster or expander pellet have been the top baits. Top pegs have been 9 – 13, 16, 19 – 21, 27, 31 and 41.
LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to 70lb and good back up weights are coming from all areas of the pool. F1’s have made up the bulk of the catches but carp numbers are going up and fish to double figures have been caught this week. A small method or pellet feeder fished tight to the island, candle/pellet waggler with 6mm pellet and down the margins with corn or pellet have all worked well.
GRATUITIES A little harder this week with the carp catches down a bit from last week. Pellet waggler or surface fishing with bread or dog biscuit the best tactics for fish into double figures. Lots of cruicians are being caught in the 8oz – 1lb range with caster or soft pellet the best bait for them.
WILLOW In really good form with lots of F1’s and carp showing along with crucians, tench and skimmers. Pole with pellet is the best tactic fished on the deck or shallow at 10 – 13 metres. A small feeder to the island is also catching plenty of fish with pellet, corn or dead maggot best hook baits.
SIBLINGS A Like all the pools, sport has been better later in the day with the carp feeding really tight into the margins. During the day, long pole fished across to the middle island with meat over micros has worked best but caster and maggot is also worth a try.
SIBLINGS B Fished well, particularly at the end of the point from pegs 4 – 11 with lots of F1’s and carp being caught on pole fished pellet or maggot.
