REPORT
MOLANDS Match weights to over 100lb this week and some big catches reported by pleasure anglers. Generally fishing better later in the day with carp to 15lb, F1’s to 4lb, tench to 4lb and bream to 4lb featuring in catches. The bigger catches have come fishing shallow on the pole at 10 – 13 metres with pellet or caster the top baits. Top pegs are 2, 4, 12, 15, 23, 27, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Gearys is starting to pick up with some good match weights to over 100lb and plenty of double figure carp coming out with fish to 17lb weighed in. The bream have been spawning the last few days and this has slowed the silver fish sport but the carp are making up the better bags with straight lead and pellet or boilies accounting for good nets and the method feeder is starting to come into its own with punched bread, meat or dead maggot on the hook. Top pegs have been 7, 10 – 13, 19 – 21, 27 – 31 and 36
LITTLE GEARYS Fished well this week with lots of F1’s around the 3lb mark, carp up to double figures and crucians showing all around the pool. Probably the most consistent pool at the moment with most pegs producing good nets but 7 – 13 and 21 – 25 the best areas. Shallow tactics have been working well with float fishing down the edges with pellet, corn, meat or caster all producing well.
GRATUITIES Picked up through the week with carp showing on lots of pegs and decent nets of fish coming out. Shallow tactics starting to work well on Grats with one carp to double figures and they have been coming to pellet waggler or long pole and pellet. Also caster, meat or pellet has been working well fished close in down the margins later in the day. Best pegs 2, 4, 8, 9, 15 and 16.
WILLOW Most pegs are offering a good days fishing but 5 and 6 are still the hot pegs fished pellet waggler or feeder to the island for F1’s to 3lb, carp to 4lb and the odd decent tench. The bigger carp are coming down the edges and corn or meat over ground bait is catching fish into double figures.
ANNIVERSARIES The bigger carp are starting to show with an angler reporting the capture of three 20lb+ carp in a single session, these all came from the end of the point fishing boilies to the island. Bags of small carp and F1’s are coming to float fished pellet or meat but the silvers are spawning and not showing as well as last week.
