MOLANDS The F1’s have completely switched off with the carp making up the better catches but generally it has been very difficult. Pleasure anglers have caught nets of carp to 100lb+ with bomb and pellet the most effective tactic at the moment. Pellet waggler and long pole with hard pellet is also worth a try at the moment. Best pegs are 2, 10, 12, 19, 29, 33, 42 – 46 and 55 – 60.
GEARYS This pool is showing signs of improvement this week with carp nets to 80lb and mixed bags to over 60lb being caught. Carp to 15lb have featured with bomb or pellet/boilies working best for them. The skimmers have shown in better numbers with fish to 3lb coming to pole with expander pellet or chopped worm and caster. Top pegs are 7 – 13, 16, 19 – 23, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fishing really well with lots of F1’s in the 1 – 3lb range, carp to double figures, skimmers and crucians being caught. Shallow tactics are best fishing pellet or caster with the fish coming short on this now and being caught at 5 – 6 metres. Pellet feeder, pellet waggler and margin fishing with meat or corn are all accounting for good catches as well. Generally fishing well on all areas but 7 – 11 and 21 – 26 are the hot spots.
GRATUITIES Carp are responding to the feeder or waggler fishing to the middle island with plenty of fish in the 2 – 5lb range being caught. Good nets of crucians, skimmers and tench to be had on caster or soft pellet fished on the pole. Best pegs are 1, 4, 8 – 11 and 26.
ANNIVERSARIES In really good form with pleasure anglers catching nets to 70lb made upmainly of F1’s but some carp, ide and bream also being caught. Pellet, maggot and caster are all working well with pole fished out into the open water on most pegs.
WILLOW Fished well this week with good catches on pole and paste, pellet waggler and feeder fished to the island have all accounted for decent catches. Best pegs have been1, 5, 6, 8 and 12.
SIBLINGS A Match nets to 50lb this week with the carp making up the better catches. Pole and pellet/maggot or meat across to the island is the top tactic. Plenty of ide are showing to caster and maggot shallow as well.
SIBLINGS B Catches to 50lb made up mainly of F1’s from 8oz to 1½lb have been caught this week. Pellet, corn or maggot fished short or across to the far side have been the best tactics.
