REPORT
MOLANDS Really showing some good form throughout the week and despite the very cold weather at the weekend there were still some good nets. Match weights to over 70lb were caught this week with the fish spread around the pool, mainly F1s, but plenty of the newly stocked carp showing as well. Maggot feeder has been the number one tactic but also long pole and maggot and even catching down the margin with maggot or hard pellet is working well.
GEARYS Pleasure anglers throughout the week were catching well with lots of small carp being caught along with the odd bonus fish to double figures. The shallow water at the top end has been the most consistent with pegs 17 – 27 all producing to a pellet or method feeder with wafter or corn on the hook.
LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys is in good form with match weights to over 80lb and despite the cold weather plenty of fish being caught down the inside margin on maggot or pellets. F1s to 5lb are making up the better catches but the odd carp to 10lb also featuring.
GRATUTIES Before the cold weather at the weekend the carp were feeding at the top end and fish were being caught on floating baits or pellet wagglers. Good mixed nets are also coming to expander pellet or maggot fished over micros.
SIBLINGS A Fished well this week with good nets of F1s, small carp and skimmers coming to long pole and pellet/maggot or caster. Anglers were catching fish right across to the island and even close in at 3 – 5 metres.
SIBLINGS B Another pool in good form with nets to around 60lb best. Lots of F1s are coming out in the 1 – 2lb range along with carp, ide and even a few tench. Pole with pellet fished long and short has been the best tactic with maggot, caster and corn also catching a few.
ANNIVERSARIES In cracking form with lots of F1s and small carp showing on most pegs and nets to over 80lb were caught this week. Pole or waggler with maggot has been the best approach but as it warms up expect the pellet to come into its own.
WILLOW A small pellet or method feeder fished to the island has been producing the better catches with F1s and carp to 4lb coming to this. Some bigger carp are being caught by fishing corn or big expander pellet down the margin. Plenty of silvers are coming to long pole and maggot or caster too.
