REPORT
MOLANDS With the F1’s again deciding to switch off again this week it was the carp that produced the best catches. Match weights to 130lb were caught with straight lead and pellet or pellet waggler fished up to the island the best tactic. The F1’s that showed came best to chopped worm and caster or banded hard pellet fished on the bottom at 10 – 13 metres. Best pegs have been 2, 8, 12, 15, 17, 27 – 31, 43 – 48 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS Fished well through the week but the rain at the weekend saw sport switch off. Match weights to 110lb+ were caught and there were plenty of good sized carp being caught with fish to 18lb coming out. Straight lead and pellet or corn/maggot over ground bait fished down the margin has been the top tactics. Best pegs have been 7 – 13, 18 – 21, 23, 27, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Match weights a little down on previous weeks with the F1’s slowing down. Method or pellet feeder fished to the island has been working well with pellet waggler also accounting for plenty of fish including carp to 8lb. Best pegs have been 1 – 10, 19, 21 and 24 – 28.
GRATUITIES Pellet/method feeder fished to the island and pole and caster/worm or expander pellet have been the best approach. Carp to double figures are still coming to floating baits with dog biscuit, bread and large expanders working well.
ANNIVERSARIES This pool is in good form for F1’s, small carp, ide and the odd good sized bream or tench. Pole fished maggot, caster or soft pellet has been the top tactic with pegs 2 – 6, 14 – 17 and 21 – 23 the hot spots.
WILLOW Willow is in good form with lots of F1’s, carp, skimmers and crucians showing. Feeder fished to the island, pellet waggler, floating bread and paste down the margins have all worked well this week.
