FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS Carp to nearly 20lb were reported this week with the better samples being caught off the top with oily floaters or dog biscuits best. Bomb and pellet/boilies or method to the island accounted for quite a few carp in the 6 – 12lb range along with F1s to 6lb. The best tactic for the F1s was pole with pellet at 14.5 metres or fishing short down the first shelf. Pegs 10 – 15,
25 – 31, 41 – 44 and 52 -56 have been the most consistent.
GEARYS The hot weather has seen the fish on the top across the whole of the pool and surface fishing has been good and anglers reported catching over 20 doubles in a session on bread or dog biscuit. In the matches, nets to round 100lb were best with waggler or bomb and pellet the top tactic and the high bank area was the best place to be in the matches.
LITTLE GEARYS Fishing slow at the start of the week but the fishing was superb at the weekend with weights to 280lb and lots of 100lb+ catches caught. There were lots of tactics working but caster fished shallow on the pole was the outstanding method. Fishing meat short or down the edges and also maggot down the edges have also seen some cracking catches taken.
GRATUITIES Fished well with plenty of carp being caught and fish to 18lb have featured and also plenty in the 3 – 8lb range. Floating baits were working well along with pellet waggler or method feeder to the island. Maggot or caster worked well for good nets of silver fish.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 70lb were best last week with F1s from 1 – 3lb showing well and they are coming to paste, pellet, maggot or caster fished on the deck or shallow. Carp to double figures were showing as well with surface tactics working well.
WILLOW Probably the most consistent pool this week with every peg producing carp and F1s to a variety of tactics. Pole fished paste, corn or meat have taken nets to 100lb, method or pellet feeder to the island and waggler with pellet all working well. Carp to 18lb reported this week as well with bread or dog biscuit working best.
SIBLINGS A Steady sport to be had with carp to double figures, F1s to 5lb, ide and skimmers being caught. Pole fished corn or pellet fishing down the margins or across to the island have been the top tactics.
SIBLINGS B Consistent sport this week with every peg producing nice nets of F1s and also the odd carp. Maggot or caster fished shallow, either right across to the far side or short at around six metres has been the top tactic but paste and meat are also working.
