FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 15/12/13

Last week 84 rods caught 234 fish for an average of 2.79.
A busier week saw the fishing a little up and down, fishing well one day and hard the next.  There were some nice fish coming out with plenty in the 3 – 5lb range.
The best fish of the week was a 13lb 5oz rainbow which came to Nuneaton rod Mr M Hood who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he took it on a Cats Whisker Lure fishing on a sinking line and it was the best of a five fish limit.  Malc
Randle of Bedworth had a five fish limit and returned another four including fish to 5lb and these all fell to white Lures fished on a floating line.
On the members’ water Great Pool, Dave Woolaston of Warwick caught seven fish to 3½lb on black and green Lures.  Nick Brasenhall of Tamworth also fished on a boat on the Great Pool and caught six fish to 3lb on Goldhead Damsels and Cats Whisker.
The top patterns are Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, white Minkies, Fritz Lures and Bloodworm with intermediate lines working best.
The best areas are the high bank ands old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close, the jetty side of Great Pool and down towards the shallows has also been fishing well.
