FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 24/11/13
Last week 69 rods caught 137 for an average 2 per rod.
The very cold weather last week saw the first coverings of ice on some of the pools. The cold conditions saw fewer rods on some days and generally the fishing was a little harder than of late.
On the Day Ticket lake Cocks Close, the best areas have been the wires bank and the old boat jetty corner with both bank and boat anglers catching around these areas.
The best patterns are Cats Whisker, white Minkies, Gold Head Damsels, black Fritz, Bloodworm and black Tadpole.
Ray Cramp of Coventry fished the bank of Cocks Close and caught well from the platforms at the old boat jetty corner taking 12 fish to 3lb which came to a black Tadpole fished on a floating line. Ray Inman of Birmingham fished from a boat on Cocks Close and he caught seven fish to 4lb using a small Peahead Lure on an intermediate line.
The largest fish of the week was a 5lb rainbow caught by Mr Hood of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close. Dave Woollaston of Warwick fished the Hall Pool taking four fish including samples of 4lb and 3lb 8oz using a small Cats Whisker Lure.
