Entry details have been released for the Packington Somers Winter League, which carries a £1,000 first prize.

The league kicks off on Sunday November 1 with matches every fortnight, and the best eight results from ten counting. Entry is £20 and then £20 per match. There are opens every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday plus one this coming bank holiday Monday.
Meanwhile, the venue’s big fish pools have been producing as well. Dave Vincent banked a beautiful 30lb 6oz fully-scaled mirror carp from Broadwater Pool that was stocked at 24lb in the winter, while ‘runs water’ Burnet Iron produced 17 carp to 12lb in a session to one angler.
