FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 14/1/18

Last week there 27 rods who caught 70 fish for an average of 2.60.

There were some nice fish caught last week topped by two fish caught by Gary Owen of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Gary had two rainbows one weighing 11lb 12oz and the other at 11lb 4oz and they fell to a white flexi Worm fished on a floating line from a boat on Cocks Close. Rod Lacey of Nuneaton caught ten fish to 5lb using a Diawl Bach fished on a floating line, again from a boat on Cocks Close.

Paul Cramp of London fished the Park Meadow pool from a boat and caught five fish to 3lb 8oz and these all came to his own tied pink Straws fly fished on a floating line.

The fish are still holding tight in the old boat jetty corner of Cocks Close and most anglers fishing from boats are catching in that area. The fish are more well spread around the Park Meadow pool with the far bank from the boat jetty the best area.

Top patterns have been Cats Whisker, black Tadpoles, Diawl Bach and Buzzers.

The Trout Fishery is open seven days a week from 8am until dusk.
