FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 3/12/17
Last week there were 29 rods caught 113 fish for an average of 3.90.
The fishing continues to improve with the fish more willing to chase Lures now and most anglers have enjoyed some success.
The far end of Cocks Close from the old boat jetty corner to the far corner has been the best area and fish have even been moving on the top around here. Damsel Nymphs, Cats Whiskers, black Tadpoles and Minkies have been the top patterns on Cocks Close.
On the Park Meadow pool, the far bank from the boat jetty and around the middle of the pool have been best. Damsel Nymphs and Diawl Bach have been the top flies on there.
The biggest fish of the week was a 14lb rainbow caught by fishery regular Rod Lacey of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and he caught it on aa Diawl Bach on a floating line. Mark Goldney of Nuneaton was fishing catch and release and caught a fish of around 12lb using a Cats Whisker fishing from the bank of Cocks Close. Father and son Nigel and Shane Lewis of Solihull shared a boat on Cocks Close and caught ten fish up to around 5lb between them and all of these came to a Cats
Whisker.
Ben Stubbs and his son of Atherstone caught 11 fish between them to 3lb and these all came to a Hot head Damsel.
